Association officers and members participated in monitoring flag-related legislation in the regular session of the 82d Texas Legislature.

The Association was represented at the 24th International Congress of Vexillology in Alexandria, Virginia. Vice President Hugh Brady served as the Association's delegate to the 22d General Assembly of the Fédération internationale des associations veillologiques. Secretary-Treasurer Charles (Kin) Spain attended the Congress and the General Assembly as the FIAV Secretary-General. The Fédération board named Brady as a Fellow of the Fédération for his significant contributions to vexillology and service to the Fédération and its members at the closing banquet.

The Association continued its financial support of FIAV's general administrative activities.

The Association continued its financial support of FIAV's general administrative activities and underwrote part of the costs of the Fédération's recognition program.

2009

The Association was represented at the 23d International Congress of Vexillology in Yokohoma, Japan. Dr. Scot Guenter, L.F., served as the Association's delegate to the 21st General Assembly of the Fédération internationale des associations veillologiques. Secretary-Treasurer Charles (Kin) Spain attended the Congress and the General Assembly as the FIAV Secretary-General.

2008

The Association was the local host and organizer of the 42nd Annual Convention of the North American Vexillological Association this year. The first vexillological conference held in Texas since the Association's formal incorporation, or VAST 1, NAVA 42 was held from 10-12 October 2008 in Austin, Texas. The conference marked the 75th anniversary of the 1933 Texas Flag Act which officially re-established the Flag of the Republic as the State Flag of Texas.
