Our official seal is based on a design by Petr Exner of the Czech Vexillogical Club. Originally, the design was a square seal with the colors blue and white. The VAST Board modified the square design to a circle, added the words "VEXILLOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION OF THE STATE OF TEXAS" around the exterior circle, and changed the colors to a gold star on a blue background so that the seal recognizes the design of the first national flag of the Republic of Texas.
